course descriptionThe Information Management major in the Bachelor of Information Technology and Systems (BITS) is a 144 point coursework program. The BITS consists of three years of full-time study or part-time equivalent. It is offered at Caulfield campus with units available in a variety of modes, including some as distance education. Graduates of the course are also eligible for professional-level membership of the Australian Computer Society. VCE prerequisites are Units 1 and 2 - general mathematics or mathematical methods (either). Units 3 and 4 - a study score of at least 25 in English (any). TAFE applicants are required to have at least a completed Certificate IV.

ALIA recognitionThe Information Management major in the Bachelor of Information Technology and Systems offered by Monash University is accredited by ALIA for a period of seven years, from 1 January 2006, subject to a satisfactory annual course return being provided by Monash University, and the right of ALIA to reassess the course on the occurrence of what, in ALIA's view, are exceptional circumstances, and in any event, once during that seven year period, and not later than December 2012.
