At its March 1997 meeting, General Council discussed the report of the ALIA National Awards Committee. One of the committee's recommendations was that further supplementary guidelines be developed to assist nominators and members of the Awards Committee in defining outstanding service. General Council endorsed the recommendation and the National Awards Committee agreed to develop the supplementary guidelines. |
