'Drop-in' sessions: information literacy responding to student needs

In 1998 subject librarians in the Humanities and Social Sciences Library at Monash University have looked at ways of extending the existing generic user education program to meet student information needs. As a result hands-on 'drop-in' sessions have been developed. This article discusses in detail the program's phases of development.
