Founded in May 1987, the ALIA Special Interest Group for the Preservation of Library Materials (ALIA SIG POLM) is Australia's only group devoted solely to discussing the preservation of library materials in all formats.
The group produces Preservation of library materials, an occasional newsletter which documents the preservation of library materials in Australia and significant developments in the rest of the world. Articles, short contributions and news are
welcome and should be sent to the editor.
Meetings are held quarterly at the program being published in inCite, Preservation of Library Materials, on ILANET, VICNET and the amf, collibs, conservation distlist, and niac-l e-list servers. A
meetings card is available from any member of the SIG committee.
The activities of the SIG are the responsibility of an elected committee with representation in most Australian states and territories. Additional representatives are welcome and nominations should be discussed to begin with with the convenor or any member of the committee.
Ideas for ALIA SIG POLM activities and comments on its programs are very welcome and should also be sent to the convenor. |
